About Us

The Allegheny Ukulele Soirée

The Allegheny Ukulele Soirée is Pennsylvania's longest running Ukulele festival, located in central PA in the foothills of the Alleghenies. Dedicated to sharing the ukulele with both the local and ukulele communities, the Soirée blends practical workshops with cultural exploration. The Soirée was established in February of 2014 as a way to introduce ourselves to the community and to grow our membership. We had such a good time we decided to do it again! Our primary goal is to share our love of the Ukulele with the local community. The Soirée also presents an opportunity for us to bring in top talent in the Ukulele world to central Pennsylvania.

In our first year, we saw over 100 people at the Soirée! Since the turnout was so fantastic (and since there just aren't any uke festivals within 5 hours of us), we decided to take the plunge and make this an annual festival. We plan to slowly grow the festival over the next few years - bringing in the best uke artists we can all while keeping our registration fees low enough for just about anyone to attend. In 2016 we have relocated to a slightly larger facility with more classroom space.

The Allegheny Ukulele Kollective

The Allegheny Ukulele Kollective, or Allegheny Ukes, is a Ukulele enthusiast club based in Altoona, PA and surrounding areas. The Allegheny Ukes have existed in various incarnations since 2010 where we jammed on college campuses, the local YMCA, and in cafes.

As of 2014, we re-established ourselves to have a set schedule of events! We have a 2nd-  and 4th-Sunday Jam every month. Check our events calendar for the locations and times!

We plan to branch out into community outreach, bringing the uke to the local schools, nursing homes, and service groups. Uke Evangelism!

If you'd like to join the Kollective, please come to our monthly uke jams! We have 2 jams a month - on the second and fourth Sundays of each month. Please check our calendar for dates, times, and locations for these events!
