The Margaret Hooligans

The Margaret Hooligans

The Margaret Hooligans is a family band, consisting of Rob Sherman on conga and Melissa Nannen on ukulele and lead vocals.  They are joined by their 9 year old daughter, Lena Sherman, on back up vocals.  They play an eclectic, energetic mix of covers and original songs.  Rob Sherman has spent the last thirty years drumming for a variety of bands, notably, Latimer on World Domination records, God Fights Dirty, Sadler, and Persona.  Melissa Nannen has been playing music on a variety of instruments and writing her own songs since the age of 15.  A former guitar player, she switched to the ukulele after an ill-fated meeting with a rotary cutter and her index finger, which left numbness and hypersensitivity in her fretting hand.  She has been sharing her love of the ukulele with others for the last several years as a teacher and performer and she is the inventor of the Hug Strap for ukulele.  She is also part of the cello and ukulele duet The Dirty Hillers.
