Open Mic
Are you ready to step up and belt out a few tunes this year? Or maybe just ready to show off your fancy new shtick? Awesome! We have our two regular open mic opportunities again this year - both will be located in the Tropical Courtyard.
Solo & Group Open Mic sign ups will be at the registration/information desk. Open Mic spots are on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will let as many performers as possible play, but there's no guarantee all performers will get to play.
Performance Opportunities for 2026

Solo Open Mic
Saturday, 12 PM. Solo performers will appear during our Lunch break on Saturday. Each performer is limited to one song. Any performer could be selected by those present to be the "People's Choice" favorite performer!

Group Open Mic
Saturday, 5:30 PM. Group performers (max 5 per group, please) will appear during our Dinner break on Saturday. Each group is limited to one song. If time allows, groups may return for a second song.

Mim's Spicy Cabaret
Saturday, 9:30PM. Running concurrently with our Late Nite Jam, this open mic is a lot more open than our other two - ruder and cruder! This performance opportunity is first-come-first-serve with signup at the Open Mic. Groups & solo performers welcome! This is a chance to perform a song that's not quite family-friendly enough for a general audience - but let's keep it PG-13/R-lite, kay?
"People's Choice" Open Mic Award
Year-after-year we have had fantastic performances during our Solo Open Mic during lunch. In 2022 we thought it would be fun to allow the audience to select their favorite performer of the day and to recognize that person's contribution to the fun of the festival. That person gets to revel in their glory until the next year!
After the Solo Open Mic has concluded, all attendees will have the opportunity to select their favorite performance. The performer with the highest tally will win a special prize, to be announced at the Saturday evening Concert!
Be sure to sign up for the Solo Open Mic early to secure your spot!
How to Win
How to win? Simply blow the socks off your fellow attendees at the Solo Open Mic during our Saturday Lunch break. You don't have to have the best technical ability nor the best singing voice nor the best of anything - soul and enthusiasm and a good song is all it takes! Attendees at the Open Mic will submit a ticket w/ their favorite person written on it. We tally those up and the person with the most votes wins!
Glory to the Winner!
A People's Choice winner doesn't only get the glory & recognition of their peers. They also receive a signed certificate of their achievement, a Soirée/Allegheny Ukes prize pack, their picture on our website unto the ages, and a free pass to next year's Soirée!
